Daily walks with God
He is with me. Every step.

What do you see in this picture?
I see chaos. I see broken limbs suspended. Caught. I see a tangled mess.
What spaces of your life do you think of when you see this?
What are the broken limbs caught in the tangle of your story?
Do you feel overwhelmed at the thought of entering into this space?

What do you see in this picture?
I see branches pruned with precision. I see a bush laid bare. I see empty space between the branches.
When I look beyond what I see, I imagine one who creates like an artist. I imagine one unafraid to cut away what entangles. I imagine one who pursues the beauty which comes in season. I imagine the One.
The difference between these two pictures is the One. The first tree is broken, tangled, and neglected. While I look at the tangled mess and broken branches, I may be tempted to relate that to my life. However, as a child of the One, as a child of God, the pruned bush portrays the truth of my season.
Which picture tells your story?
As His child, there are no broken branches left suspended. He attends to me like an artist. There are no overgrown vines that tangle. He cuts away what entangles me as a gentle father tends to a child. He never neglects or abandons. He pursues the beauty He planted deep in my soul. He shines on my branches laid bare. He waits with childlike anticipation for Spring when I will bloom.
He is with you. He is with me. Every step.
